Getting to Wales

By Air

If you’re travelling from Europe, you can fly straight to Cardiff International Airport, which has direct links with Dublin, Amsterdam, Prague, London, Edinburgh and various other European destinations.

Continental Airlines fly direct from Newark International to Bristol and Zoom Airlines operate scheduled services direct from Toronto and Vancouver to Cardiff. For other intercontinental flights simply fly into one of the UK’s larger airports and get a bus/rail transfer direct to Cardiff.

By Train
From London’s Heathrow airport, you can get a train into Paddington Station, and from there you can be in Cardiff in two hours.

From other cities in England & Scotland, you’ll need to change at Bristol or Bath for South Wales, and Crewe for North Wales. Mid Wales can be reached via Birmingham or Shrewsbury.

By Bus
The main National Express bus routes into Wales are London to Milford Haven via Cardiff & Swansea, London to Wrexham, or London to Aberystwyth. You can also get a bus from London to Holyhead/Pwllheli via Birmingham. From Birmingham you can go to Swansea via Cardiff, or to Haverfordwest. Additional routes run from Chester to Llandudno, Bangor and Holyhead.

Brit Xplorer - For less than £8 a day, you can hop on and off the National Express network with a Brit Xplorer pass.  Passes can be purchased online at www.nxbritxplorer.com and collected once in the UK from all major airports, or from National Express Travel Shops in major cities.  If you are already in the UK, simply visit the website to find your closest travel shop.

By Road
If you’re driving, you simply take the M4 Motorway from London to Cardiff. You should be there in about 2 hours.
